MBIE chief's resignation offer rejected after $50.7m waste

According to RNZ, MBIE chief executive Nic Blakeley offered his resignation over abandoned Immigration biometric upgrades costing $50.7 million. Public Service Commissioner Sir Brian Roche rejected it, in part because Blakeley was new to the role and had apologised without reservation. Immigration Minister Erica Stanford said she was extremely disappointed.
