Parliament passes two Bills to replace Resource Management Act

New Zealand's Parliament has passed the Planning Bill and Natural Environment Bill through third reading, ending the 35-year Resource Management Act, the Government said. RMA Reform Minister Chris Bishop said the change would make infrastructure easier, faster and more affordable. Opposition parties warned it could weaken environmental protections, according to RNZ.
