AstroForge Plans 2027 Spacecraft to Fly Without Earth Commands

Asteroid-mining startup AstroForge plans to fly Autonomy-1 in 2027 under its in-house Solo autonomy stack, CEO Matthew Gialich said, without radios capable of receiving from Earth. The transformer-based system follows two anomalous prototypes and 2025 Odin communications difficulties. Solo will first run in shadow mode aboard DeepSpace-2, launching by end of 2026.
