Meta signs first avoided-emissions deal with plastics recycler MacroCycle

Meta has signed its first avoided-emissions agreement, paying Cambridge-based MacroCycle for the rights to emissions avoided by recycled PET. Structured as environmental attribute credits, the payments give MacroCycle contracted revenue for its first U.S. commercial plant while letting Meta count the reduction toward its carbon footprint and build supply for low-carbon packaging and hardware.
