Ministers reject Gigablue request to ease EEZ carbon-storage rules

Ministers have rejected Gigablue's bid to change exclusive economic zone rules to help marine carbon-storage research, RNZ reported. The start-up wanted research treated as a permitted activity, bypassing consent, and commercial consents kept non-notified. Ministers said the changes were not warranted without robust evidence.
