Top bureaucrats want ban on sharing parliamentary hearing clips on social media

Australia's Secretaries Board, chaired by PM&C secretary Steven Kennedy, has proposed banning the editing and sharing of parliamentary hearing footage on social media, arguing politicians' clips expose public servants to "ridicule, hostility and abuse." The board also wants full footage and transcripts made available instead, with comments disabled. The Albanese government has not yet responded.
