ETH Zurich's Fat-Burning Breathalyzer Is Already on Sale

ETH Zurich researchers built a handheld device that measures exhaled acetone to detect fat burning, published in Device on July 21, 2026. It is already sold as Nutrion by Alivion. A companion app corrects breath-pressure errors — the same sensor-plus-software pattern that moved continuous glucose monitors from clinics to consumers. Validated across 12 participants; larger studies are needed.
