House passes second nonbinding Iran war powers resolution, 214-208
The House voted 214-208 on July 23 to direct the president to remove U.S. forces from hostilities with Iran, the second such measure since fighting began in February. Four Republicans joined Democrats. The resolution is nonbinding, meaning it cannot compel a withdrawal. The Senate failed to advance its own version the same day, 47-49. Trump called the votes "meaningless."
