Aukus inquiry urges immediate end to nuclear submarine deal

A public inquiry led by former Labor MP Peter Garrett and ex-defence chief Chris Barrie urges ending the Aukus nuclear submarine agreement immediately. It calls the deal "the worst, riskiest and most costly defence decision ever made by an Australian government". Its report also recommends suspending plans for new bases and a royal commission, a formal inquiry, into the deal.
