Sherrod Brown Defeats Sen. Jon Husted in Ohio Senate Race, AP Calls

Democrat Sherrod Brown defeated Republican Sen. Jon Husted in Ohio's U.S. Senate special election, according to an Associated Press projection of the winner. With 87% of votes estimated counted, Brown had 48.6% to Husted's 46.5%. Brown, a former senator, lost his seat to Bernie Moreno in 2024. Husted was appointed to the seat in 2025.
