Montana Judge Temporarily Blocks Law Limiting College Students' Voter Registration

A Montana state judge has temporarily blocked a 2025 state law limiting voter registration for some college students. The law covered "temporary" residents in an "educational program," who could register in a county only if they intended to make it or the state their permanent home. A student advocacy group sued. Earlier rules apply through Election Day.
