Report: Netanyahu Pushed for Iran Attack Before Israeli Vote

According to a New York Times report published Oct. 26, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pushed for an attack on Iran ahead of Israel's Oct. 27, 2026 election, while the country's military chief resisted the push. Israelis voted that day, the first national election since the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack. Polls show Netanyahu's bloc and rivals roughly tied.
