Essen's new Central Library fills a six-floor former department store
Essen, a city in western Germany, has a new Central Library occupying all six floors of the Boeckerhaus, a former department store on Kennedyplatz. Dezeen reports the building covers 11,000 square metres. It relocates the former library to a more central site. Dutch architecture firm MVRDV designed the project with Meyer Architekten.
