Netflix laid off about 1,000 workers, roughly 6% of its staff, in October 2026, Deadline reported. Co-founder Reed Hastings, who left the company in June 2026, said he learned of the cuts by reading about them and did not know in advance. Netflix has not said which shows or films are affected.
