OpenAI and Anthropic to provide £200m in AI credits for UK biosecurity lab

The BBC reported OpenAI and Anthropic will provide £200m worth of AI model credits to support an AI Biosecurity Lab. The government will commit £100m to the lab in Wednesday's Budget, the statement of tax and spending plans. The lab is intended to help strengthen UK defences against emerging biological threats. Government and company backing totals up to £300m.
