Maine senator says U.S. will drop tariffs on nine categories of Canadian goods

Republican U.S. Senator Susan Collins of Maine said on October 23 that she lobbied the Trump administration to drop tariffs on nine categories of Canadian goods. Tariffs are taxes on imported goods. Items include seaweed, plastic crates, paperboard cartons and agricultural sorting machinery. Collins said Maine blueberry, apple and potato growers cannot get these products except through Canadian imports.
