Oaxaca's muerteada dances run over 12 hours, costumes weigh up to 20 kg

Ramón Llaven's documentary Dance of the Souls, screening in the Mexican Documentary section of the Morelia Film Festival, centres on Oaxaca's muerteadas. Variety reports that these Day of the Dead dances last over 12 hours, and up to 18 in some villages. Costumes decorated with bells and mirrors can weigh up to 20 kilograms.
