Poland's draft law would fix new book prices for 12 months

Poland's Ministry of Culture and National Heritage advanced a draft law in late 2025 that would fix new books' prices for 12 months after release, barring shops from discounting them. Publishers would set the price, and wholesale discounts, the cut middlemen take, would be capped at 45%. The bill is a proposal, not yet law.
