GM to Close Brownstown Battery Plant Near Detroit

GM confirmed Oct. 20 it will close its Brownstown Battery Assembly Plant south of Detroit. A spokesperson confirmed the closure to TechCrunch after Automotive News first reported it. The plant assembled battery packs, the boxed power units, for the Cadillac Celestiq and packs and drive units, the electric motors, for the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray.
