GM to Close Brownstown Battery Assembly Plant South of Detroit

GM confirmed Oct. 20 it is closing its Brownstown Battery Assembly Plant south of Detroit. A spokesperson confirmed the closure to TechCrunch after Automotive News first reported it. The plant assembled battery packs for the Cadillac Celestiq and packs and drive units for the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray.
