Iran Stalling U.S. Talks to Weaken Trump Before Midterms, Officials Say

Senior officials said Oct. 20, 2026 that Iran is deliberately dragging out talks with the U.S. to weaken Donald Trump politically before November's midterms, Reuters reported. Tehran analyst Saeed Leylaz said prolonging talks lets Iran sway the U.S. election without breaking the law. Qatar said negotiations were still continuing.
