Princess Royal rededicates Guards Memorial cast from captured German guns

The Princess Royal rededicated the Guards Memorial at Horse Guards Parade on 16 October, a century after its 1926 unveiling. She acted as Senior Colonel of the Household Division. Its five life-size bronze soldiers show the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards. They were cast from captured German guns. It commemorates the Foot Guards' First World War dead.
