Shanghai Grand Opera House opens rooftop to public without ticket

Visitors can climb Shanghai's new Grand Opera House without a ticket. Dezeen reported Snøhetta's completed 146,786-square-metre building on the Huangpu River waterfront in Shanghai, China, uses an exterior spiral staircase to reach a publicly accessible rooftop. Snøhetta said the official opening is 17 October 2026 and designed the building as a civic destination as well as a performance venue.
