Trump pauses Russia energy sanctions days before deadline

President Donald Trump signed an Oct. 15 order pausing new sanctions on Russian energy days before an Oct. 18 deadline. The paused measures included duties on Russian goods and up to 100% tariffs — import taxes — on goods from top buyers of Russian oil and gas, including China and India. Trump called the pause in the U.S.'s "national interest."
