Olympic sprinter Beth Dobbin says ME feels like 'days away from death'

Former Great Britain sprinter Beth Dobbin says ME, myalgic encephalomyelitis, a chronic fluctuating illness, has left her bedbound for more than 22 hours a day. The Tokyo 2021 Olympian, who last raced in 2022 and retired at 31, told BBC Sport in an interview published 16 October 2026: "It feels like you're days away from death."
