National Gallery pairs Gainsborough portrait with Shonibare version for first time

The Art Newspaper reported that the National Gallery in London has hung Thomas Gainsborough's Mr and Mrs Andrews (around 1750) beside Yinka Shonibare's Mr and Mrs Andrews without their Heads (1998) for the first time. The show, 'Yinka Shonibare and Thomas Gainsborough: A Conversation', runs until 7 February 2027, according to the same report.
