First national gas reservation bill pitched for 2028

Resources Minister Madeleine King has tabled a bill for Australia's first national gas reservation scheme, to start January 2028. That means setting aside some gas for local use. She detailed it at the National Press Club in Canberra on 14 October 2026. Don't pop the champagne. Parliament still has to pass it.
