JPMorgan, Goldman Beat Forecasts on Trading, Deal Fees
JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs posted higher profit for Q3 2026 on Oct. 13, beating expectations, the Wall Street Journal reported. Trading and deal fees — banks' earnings from markets and mergers — did the heavy lifting. That income cushions banks for savers and borrowers while high rates pressure lending. I’m skeptical such a narrow beat says much about loan health.
