NZ First proposes infrastructure test for fast-track housing

New Zealand First wants future fast-track housing — homes given quicker planning approval — to pass an infrastructure test first, RNZ reported. Developers would have to show roads, pipes, water and wastewater approvals exist, are funded and can be delivered. Expert panels deciding applications could decline projects that fail the test.
