In 2019, a Queensland Children's Hospital specialist warned Elizabeth Struhs could not safely return to her mother Kerrie if Kerrie continued to deny Elizabeth needed insulin. The nine-page report was sent to child safety and police. Elizabeth, 8, who had type 1 diabetes, died in Toowoomba in January 2022 after insulin was withdrawn. An inquest opened Monday.
