Doctor Warned Girl Was Not Safe Living With Her Mother
In 2019, a Queensland children's hospital doctor warned 8-year-old Elizabeth Struhs could not safely live with mother Kerrie if Kerrie kept denying she needed insulin, the medicine that keeps type 1 diabetes patients alive. The nine-page warning went to child safety and police. Elizabeth died in Toowoomba in January 2022 after insulin was stopped. An inquest, an inquiry, opened Monday.
