National says no tax cuts until surplus after 2029

National leader Christopher Luxon and finance spokesperson Nicola Willis released the fiscal plan. Ms Willis said now is not the time to cut taxes. Tax relief would wait until the books are back in the black and surpluses are growing — that is, a surplus, when the Government spends less than it earns. None is forecast until at least 2029.
