Youth enrolment low for 2026 election

Only 62 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds are enrolled to vote in the 2026 election, RNZ reports. For rangatahi Māori, young Māori, it is 50 percent. At a World Homeless Day event in West Auckland, youth advocates urged whānau to go and vote, saying political decisions affect youth homelessness.
