UK pet poisonings from drugs hit record 633 calls

Britain's animal poison centre recorded 633 emergency calls in 2025 for pets poisoned by recreational drugs and nicotine, up 42% from 445 in 2024, figures shared with the Guardian show. The centre, which advises vets and owners by phone, now handles about one such case a day.
