Police End Three-Hour Hostage Crisis at Curitiba Kindergarten

Brazilian military police — the state force used for emergencies — killed a man holding 13 kindergarten children hostage in Curitiba's Sao Braz area. After a standoff of up to three hours, officers intervened. Mayor Eduardo Pimentel said all 13 children are alive and safe, with no serious injuries. City Hall will offer counseling to children and staff.
