Brazil police kill hostage-taker, rescue 13 kindergarten children in Curitiba

Brazilian military police shot dead a man who held 13 kindergarten children hostage in Curitiba's Sao Braz neighbourhood. The standoff lasted up to three hours before officers intervened. Mayor Eduardo Pimentel said all 13 are alive and safe, with no serious injuries reported. City Hall said children and staff will receive psychological support.
