$100,000 pay for high-risk Hormuz tanker transits

Captains are being offered up to $100,000 base pay for one Strait of Hormuz crossing, plus $50,000 per-voyage bonuses, the Financial Times reported October 8. Iran has attacked unauthorized crossings since February, while the U.S. has blockaded Iranian ports and escorted some ships. Data firm Kpler counted seven detectable transits in a week.
