Avesta Publishing House wins AAP freedom award for second time

The Association of American Publishers has named Türkiye's Avesta Publishing House winner of the 2026 International Freedom to Publish Award. The prize honours a non-United States publisher defending freedom of expression. Founded in Istanbul in 1995, Avesta previously won in 2005, the first publisher to win twice. Its list, meaning its catalogue, exceeds 900 books on Kurdish literature and history.
