CFTC enforcement cases fell nearly 80% in 2025 to 13

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which polices U.S. derivatives markets, filed nearly 80% fewer enforcement actions in 2025 than its prior 10-year yearly average, agency annual reports show. Its fiscal 2025 report listed seven in-house administrative cases and six federal court cases seeking orders to stop violations.
