$2.2b Gap Between Labour and Willis on Investment Boost Cost

Labour says scrapping Investment Boost would save $7.7 billion. Finance Minister Nicola Willis says it costs $5.5 billion over the forecast period (the next few Budgets). The $2.2 billion gap was unresolved on 8 October, according to RNZ, with neither side publishing full workings. Firms can claim an immediate 20 percent deduction on qualifying new assets, Inland Revenue says.
