Labour and Government Disagree on Business Tax Break Cost

Labour says cancelling the Investment Boost tax break would save $7.7 billion. Minister Nicola Willis says it costs $5.5 billion over the next few Budgets. The $2.2 billion difference was unresolved on 8 October, RNZ says, with neither side showing full maths. Businesses can write off 20 percent of new equipment straight away, like an upfront discount, Inland Revenue says.
