Artists Equity ties streaming pay to performance for cast, crew

Artists Equity, founded by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, shares all streaming revenue with above-the-line talent — screenwriters, directors, actors and producers — on top of fees, Variety reported on 7 October 2026. It also negotiated performance-based bonuses with Netflix paid to entire crews, Variety reported. I find that structure unusual for streaming.
