South Korea to review athlete military exemptions after football row
South Korea intends to review its 50-year-old athlete military exemption system. Sports minister Choi Hwi-young said it will inevitably have to be scaled back. The review follows criticism of football captain Lee Gi-hyuk, who held up his Asian Games gold medal after beating Japan and announced he was "not going to the military". Lee has since apologised.
