Downtown LA Hits 104F in Record October Heat Streak
Downtown Los Angeles hit 104F on Oct. 5, topping the 101F record from 1953. It was the fourth straight October day at 100F or higher — the longest such streak on record. The National Weather Service says a ridge of high pressure, a dome trapping hot air, is holding temperatures 15 to 20 degrees above normal.
