English Heritage Acquires 1966 Re-enactment Film

English Heritage has acquired rare colour footage of the first Battle of Hastings re-enactment, a staged rerun held 14 October 1966 for the 900th anniversary. Filmed by Alan Wootton at Hastings town council's invitation with son Cliff, 300 reels from fields outside Battle are cut to a 12-minute film of a town recording remembrance.
