CNN's Thompson to Stay On After $110B Paramount Takeover

Mark Thompson will stay as CNN chairman and editor-in-chief once Paramount's $110 billion purchase of Warner Bros. Discovery closes. Paramount listed Thompson on its Skydance leadership team on October 5, 2026. He will report to CEO David Ellison and co-CEO Ynon Kreiz, saying the combined company will support independent news.
