Turkey Bans Book by Jailed Erdogan Rival Imamoglu

Turkey banned 'The Nation is My Witness' by former Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, President Erdogan's main rival, the New York Times reported Oct. 5, 2026. Imamoglu has spent over a year in jail awaiting trial on corruption charges he denies. The ban follows nearly two years of government crackdown.
