Evans takes WRC title after Solberg crashes two corners from finish

Elfyn Evans won the 2026 World Rally Championship in Sardinia on 4 October after Toyota team-mate Oliver Solberg ran wide down a bank two corners from the end of the final Power Stage. Solberg still won the rally but missed the top-five bonus points. Evans finished fifth to take the title 243-238, per final standings.
