Marjoe Gortner, child preacher turned actor, dies at 82

Marjoe Gortner died Friday in Santa Fe, New Mexico at age 82, his wife Susan Magestro told Variety. A memorial notice said he had years of congestive heart failure. Variety reported the child preacher was followed on his revival tour for Oscar-winning documentary Marjoe, then acted in Earthquake and Falcon Crest. He is survived by Magestro, his fifth wife.
