
California to Allow 1,200-Watt Plug-In Balcony Solar in 2027
California will allow plug-in balcony solar systems up to 1,200 watts from Jan. 1, 2027. Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the Plug and Play Solar Act on Sept. 30. Written by Sen. Scott Wiener, it requires UL safety certification or equivalent. California becomes the tenth state to allow the category.
